Guys your video came up in my feed. I have extensively travelled in Botswana and i live in South Africa. Any questions please get un touch. Happy to help anyway i can. Botswana is awesome
Thank you! That is super kind of you, Amol. Would you know anything about the permits needed for drones and the kind of two-way radios we're allowed to carry in Botswana?
I thought I had replied but it's gone missing. As a rule drones are not allowed in national parks. I have observed that it does affect animal behaviour too so I have never pursued trying to get permission for one. Zartek do a walkie talkie but I think they need a license in Botswana. You can get an amateur version in South Africa. The claimed line of sight range is 3-5km but in practice it's more like 1km given the landscape and habitat with trees etc
@@amolkarnik9709 thanks - yeah, so we're leaving our drones behind. Even outside of flying in Protected Areas, I think taking a drone to Botswana requires permits + visiting a local police station to submit finger prints, etc. We haven't budgeted time for that, maybe the next time.
Excited 🔥
As are we :)
Safe travels and good luck. Hope you get to make images to your hearts content. Look forward to the stories from this trip.
@@K15h4n04 thanks KC! I'll be making one trip to Bangalore before I leave, let's catch up if we can.
